Classic Bathroom Mirrors
May 15, 2009
I always known a classic bathroom mirrors as those large wall size mirrors installed in most high class hotels. But actually, there are three types of bathroom mirrors. The fixed, hanging and moving mirrors.
Fixed mirrors are those mirrors that are mounted to your bathroom wall. It is the largest among all the mirrors and it could let you see your whole body. It’s the simplest type of the mirror and often framed with simple aluminum metal or woods. Fixed mirrors are also one of the most expensive for you’ll to hire an expert to install this type of mirror.
Hanging mirrors could also be large. Actually the common sizes of hanging mirror are from medium to large but often a bit smaller compared to fixed mirror. The difference between the two is that hanging mirrors are more flexible. They don’t need to be mounted to wall and could be easily transferred from one wall to another. This type of mirror often has the most artistic frame. Standing in front of this mirror is just like looking at a piece of art where you are the masterpiece elegantly framed with so much artistry.
While fixed mirrors and hanging mirrors are commonly large, moving mirrors is made to be the smallest among these three types. As the term suggest, moving mirrors are movable and very convenient to put inside your bathroom. This is most likely use for vanity and is very helpful to women in putting their make up after their shower.
Generally, in all cases, bathroom mirrors to me are just plain mirror. I can’t see anything special about them but it’s what you put around it that could make these mirrors to be more attractive.
There are several ways to decorate your bathroom mirrors, and it may require some expert’s skills and additional cost for both materials and installation. My favorite is decorating fixed mirrors with lights. Imagine you are standing in front of a large wall mounted mirror of your bathroom. Without any decorations, this mirror would only look dull and boring. But now imagine you put a couple of soft light in both side of your mirror… now that really makes sense, right?
A simple installation of soft light besides your mirror could not only help you see your self clearer but as well as it contributes to create a much better and more elegant bathroom ambiance. You can also try to put some small decorations like flowerily indoor plants, vases, designed tissue holders or even a beautiful shampoo and soap dispenser besides your mirror to add more complements.
Preparations of the wall where you wish to place your bathroom mirror are also recommended. Remember that the beauty of the mirror is not really with the mirror itself but the elements that surround it. A classic bathroom mirror is just a part of the equation where the mirror itself play as the centerpiece while the whole wall is the canvass to form a great work of art.
